"In early August, 2017, my husband Hugh and I hiked the West Coast Trail, from Port Renfrew to Bamfield with two of our kids and their partners. Since we had last completed it 35 years ago, a few more ladders and board walk had been added but the trail has lost none of its beauty and challenge.
We took along several items purchased at North Road Sports store including the Primus classic trail stove. This lightweight one pot stove easily held our ancient pot and efficiently boiled the water for our freeze dried Backpacker Pantry meals that Christine had brought in for us (including our favourites lasagne and pad Thai). We were pleased to be able to recycle our used gas canisters at GIRO. The stove, canister and other kitchen items fit inside the pot for carrying.
My cell phone was my only camera for the hike and on airplane mode, with its ringer turned off, it only lost half charge in four days. I topped it up using the Power Monkey charger from North Road.
